Careers Privacy Notice

Please read this Careers Privacy Notice carefully. By submitting application information through the Ampersand career site (“Career Site”), or by emailing our recruiters, you, the applicant, consent to National Cable Communications LLC, doing business as Ampersand (“Ampersand”, “we”, “us”) collecting, using and processing Applicant Data (as defined below) as described below.  

This Careers Privacy Notice only applies to data collected via the Career Site.

Data Collected and Purpose

Applicant Provided Data. You may voluntarily provide personal data to Ampersand through LinkedIn, Ceridian, Built In and/or third-party recruiters. You can register and create a profile on LinkedIn, Ceridian or Built In, providing such personal information as:

  •     Identifiers:
  •     Your name;
  •     Your email address;
  •     Your postal address;
  •     Your phone number;
  •     Your picture; or
  •     Other similar identifiers.
  •     Jobs you show interest in (e.g., ones you apply for, follow, comment on, etc.).
  •     Educational Information, including educational Level.
  •     Your work background.
  •     Resume/CV.

This type of personal data that we receive directly from you or others in connection with your application, as well as the “Internet Activity” described below, is referred to in this Careers Privacy Notice as "Applicant Data." Ampersand may collect additional personal data, either directly from you or from third parties (e.g., background checks companies), if Ampersand is considering your job application or extends an offer of employment to you. Ampersand may also collect and retain Applicant Data manually or electronically (e.g., if you send us an email). You may access and rectify/correct your Applicant Data by logging into LinkedIn, Built In and/or Ceridian.

Ampersand asks job applicants, at their discretion, to provide their race or ethnicity as part of its job application process for its diversity and inclusion efforts.

Applicant Data from this Site: Internet Activity

When you visit our site, your browser automatically sends us an Internet Protocol address and certain other data, including the type of browser you use. Our cookies on this site are used solely to facilitate your online experience and are not used to make employment-related decisions. Please visit Ampersand privacy policy to learn more about this data we collect when you visit our Career Site (“Internet Activity”).

Use of Applicant Data.

Ampersand may use and process your Applicant Data to communicate with you in writing, by telephone or online, to evaluate your application, to analyze its staffing needs and practices, or otherwise to efficiently manage the Ampersand hiring process and employee administration and for diversity and inclusion efforts. We may combine Applicant Data with research tools and data from other sources. Ampersand collects, combines, analyses and uses this Applicant Data for hiring purposes.

Data disclosures.

Ampersand’s human resources department staff primarily manages the Applicant Data and may store it electronically or in hard copy. Other staff involved in hiring or information management also may have access to some or all Applicant Data, as may senior management. We may from time to time make Applicant Data available to legal and regulatory authorities (such as tax authorities), to our accountants, auditors, lawyers and other outside professional advisers, and to parties providing products or services to us (such as IT systems suppliers and human resources consultants).

Notwithstanding any other provision of this Career Privacy Notice, Ampersand also may disclose Applicant Data to any third party when disclosure is required by law, or desirable to permit us to exercise our legal rights or take action regarding illegal activities, or to protect the safety of any person. If all or part of our company is sold, merged, or otherwise transferred to another entity, we may transfer Applicant Data as part of that transaction.

Retention, transfers and security of Applicant Data.

We may store Applicant Data for as long as needed for the purposes indicated in this Privacy Notice, but in any event not longer than permitted by local law from the date of collection unless you become employed by Ampersand, in which case a different retention period may apply. Records not specifically designated as Applicant Data may have different retention periods (e.g., email server records of emails received or sent). Ampersand has certain security measures to protect the confidentiality of Applicant Data (such as firewalls to protect servers), but the storage and communication of personal data cannot always be completely secure.

Third Party Links or content

The Career Site may provide third-party hyperlinks, or incorporate certain functionality, that allows applicants to apply for a job, and/or obtain other support for the job application process, through a third party site, including the routing and transmission of, and online access to, certain digital communications and content made available by third parties (such communications and content, “Third Party Content”). This may include social media providers such as LinkedIn as well as services like Built In. Ampersand may also use Ceridian to support its employee application portal. Ampersand’s human resources and external recruiters may have access to applicant information you have submitted, including information you have submitted via Ceridian, Built In and LinkedIn. Ampersand’s human resources will use such information for its recruitment and interviewing processes. By using such functionality, you acknowledge and agree that you are directing us to access and transmit to you Third Party Content associated with such functionality.

The career site may provide links to other web sites and online resources that include Third Party Content. Because we do not control Third-Party Content, you agree that Ampersand is neither responsible nor liable for any Third-Party Content, including the accuracy, integrity, quality, legality, usefulness, or safety of, or intellectual property rights relating to, Third Party Content. Under no circumstances will Ampersand be liable in any way for any content or materials of any third parties on the Career Site, including, but not limited to, for any errors or omissions in any such content, or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any such content.

We have no obligation to monitor Third Party Content, and we may block or disable access to any Third-Party Content (in whole or part) via the Career Site at any time. Your access to or receipt of Third-Party Content via the Career Site does not imply our endorsement of, or our affiliation with any provider of, such Third-Party Content. Further, your use of Third-Party Content may be governed by additional terms and conditions that are not set forth in this Agreement or our Privacy Notice (for example, terms and conditions that are made available by the providers of such Third-Party Content). This Agreement does not create any legal relationship between you and the providers of such Third-Party Content with respect to such Third-Party Content, and nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to be a representation or warranty by any of Ampersand with respect to any Third-Party Content.  YOU AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THIRD-PARTY CONTENT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND IS SUBJECT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE APPLICABLE TO SUCH THIRD-PARTY CONTENT.


We do not knowingly collect application information from children under the age of 16.

California Residents: Exercise Your Rights in Relation to Job Applicant Data

Job applicants based in California have rights to make certain choices about their personal data in certain circumstances which include:

  • The right to update your data if it’s out of date, incomplete, or inaccurate;
  • The right to request information about what personal information Ampersand is processing about you and be provided with access to such personal information;
  • The right to have your data deleted;
  • The right to restrict the sharing of your sensitive personal information;
  • The right to withdraw consent for the personal data you have provided to Ampersand on a consensual basis;
  • The right to obtain information about the entities that Ampersand has shared your personal information with; and
  • The right not to be retaliated against by Ampersand for exercising any of your rights.
